Accountability

Raptor is responsible for maintaining and protecting personal information about you in our care and control. We have designated a Privacy Officer who is accountable for compliance and PIPEDA.

We sometimes use outside companies (“third parties”) to help us provide the service and/or product you require. Raptor Trading requires these third parties to comply with Canadian privacy legislation and Raptor Trading’s Privacy Principles. Certain third parties may be located in the United States and may also be subject to United States legislation.

Identifying purposes

You have a right to know how your information will be used. We will explain why we need your information before or when we collect it, if the purpose is not already clear. We will assume that the purpose is clearly identified when we use your personal information to:

  1. Fulfill your service and/or product requirement.
  2. Process your payment, including any recurring payments.
  3. Update you as to the status of the service and/or product we are providing to you.
  4. Alert you to important revisions or updates to the service and/or product provided to you.

1.   Telling you about Raptor Trading upgrades, or new products or services.

2.   Inviting you to participate in customer surveys or other opinion-gathering devices.

3.   Telling you about educational events, such as training seminars, conferences and on-line training sessions.

Aggregate data is general information about groups of customers, and does not identify individual customers. Raptor Trading may combine your information with that of other individuals to create aggregated data which we will use to improve our services and/or products and develop new ones. For example, we may tell a third party how many people purchased a certain service or product, but not that you personally purchased a specific item.

Raptor Trading will not disclose your personal information to any third parties without your consent, except under the following circumstances:

  1. As is reasonably required to fulfill your service and/or product requirements, provided such third parties shall be bound to appropriate privacy requirements.

  4. To protect the personal safety of other users or members of the public in an emergency.

Consent

Raptor Trading will only collect, use and disclose your personal information with your knowledge and consent, except where permitted or so required by law. Raptor Trading will not rent, sell, or otherwise distribute your personal information without your permission. Your consent to use your personal information will be implied by the following purposes:

  1. Fulfilling your service and/or product request.
  2. Updating you as to the status of your order.
  3. Alerting you to important service or product revisions or updates.
  4. Ensuring that you are properly registered to receive technical support for certain services or products.

You control any future secondary use of your personal information (such as sharing it with marketers). You can prevent future secondary use of your information by “opting out” when Raptor Trading collects your information or at any time by contacting us. Opting out only applies to the secondary purposes because we may need to contact you regarding the service or product we supply you with or alert you of important service or product revisions or updates.
